Privacy Policy — WorkoutTwin

Health Connect and Health Data

WorkoutTwin integrates with Health Connect on Android and Apple Health on iOS to read health and fitness data that you have already recorded on your device, with your explicit consent. We request read-only access to the following data types:

• Steps — your daily step count
• Active calories burned — active energy expenditure
• Heart rate
• Exercise minutes — time spent in recorded activity
• Weight — body weight measurements
• Sleep — sleep sessions and sleep stages (light, deep, REM, awake)
• Nutrition — calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat recorded by food-tracking apps

We do not write any data back to Health Connect or Apple Health.

How we use this data

• To display your daily totals for steps, active calories and heart rate in the health summary on the Analytics screen.
• To show trends for these values over the past week in the health detail view.
• To import your weight so it appears on your weight progress chart and counts toward your weight goal, so you do not have to enter it twice. A weight you enter manually in the App always takes precedence and is never overwritten.
• To show last night's sleep, its stage breakdown, time in bed and sleep trends alongside your training, and to adjust the day's training recommendation to how you slept — for example, suggesting a lighter session after a short night.
• To show today's calories and macros from your food-tracking app when you have not logged nutrition in the App, so nothing is counted twice.

How this data is stored

Health data read from Health Connect or Apple Health is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our secure backend (hosted by Supabase) and stored in your personal account. We store up to the most recent 14 days of daily health values, along with imported weight measurements, which are kept as part of your measurement history until you delete them or request deletion of your account. We store this data so that your history is preserved when you sign in on another device, so that trends can be shown over time, and so that the App still has something to display if you later revoke access.

For sleep, only the nightly sleep duration is stored in your account; sleep stages are read from Health Connect or Apple Health to display in the App and are not stored. Nutrition read from Health Connect or Apple Health is displayed in the App and is not stored.

Access to this data is restricted at the database level so that only your own authenticated account can read or modify it.

We do not sell your health data. We do not share it with third parties. We do not use it for advertising. It is not used for any medical or diagnostic purpose — WorkoutTwin is a general fitness and training app, and is not a medical device.

Your control over this data

• Granting Health Connect or Apple Health access is entirely optional. The App works without it, and you are never required to connect it.
• You can revoke access at any time through the Health Connect app or your Android device settings. On iOS, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Health. The App stops reading new data immediately.
• To remove data held by Health Connect itself, open the Health Connect app, go to Apps, select WorkoutTwin, and tap Manage data.
• To remove the health data stored in your WorkoutTwin account, open the App and go to Settings → Delete Account. This marks your account for deletion and removes your data from our systems.
• You may also request deletion at any time by emailing developer@optimizedstrength.app. We will action any deletion request within 30 days.

Please note that certain legal or regulatory requirements may prevent us from immediately deleting all data. We will always fulfil deletion requests as quickly as possible and in accordance with applicable law.

Information We Collect

To provide the Service, we collect and store the following in your account: the account details you provide when registering (such as your name and email address), your training and workout history, body measurements you record, and — if you choose to connect it — the health data described above.

Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. We encourage you to review their privacy policies:

• Google Play Services
• Firebase Crashlytics
• Sentry
• Mixpanel
• RevenueCat

Log Data

Whenever you use our Service, in the case of an error in the App, we collect data and information on your phone (through third-party products) called Log Data. This Log Data may include your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the App when using our Service, the time and date of your use, and other statistics. Health data is not included in crash or error reports.

Cookies

This Service does not use cookies explicitly. However, the App may use third-party code and libraries that use cookies to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to accept or refuse these cookies. If you refuse them, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.

Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services, or to assist us in analysing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your personal information only to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf, and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Security

We value your trust in providing us your personal information, and strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and access is restricted to your own account. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. These external sites are not operated by us, and we strongly advise you to review their privacy policies. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

This Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete it from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take the necessary action.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
